PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data reproducing system of an optical disk which can correctly detect data by assuring a detection margin for data detection. SOLUTION: This data reproducing system is achieved by having a signal reproducing means, a sampling means which samples reproduced signals at prescribed timing, an equalization processing means which executes the equalization processing of the sampling data in accordance with an equalization target value, a maximum likelihood data detecting means which defines the most likely data to be reproduced in accordance with the sampling data subjected to the equalization processing, a data forming means which forms recording data from the data defined by the maximum likelihood data detecting means in accordance with the sampling data subjected to the equalization processing in the data regions in respective sectors and a equalization target value computing means which computes the equalization target value in accordance with the sampling data obtained in VFO regions in respective sectors.
