PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that a register showing the number of rewriting performing times for every divided block in a flash memory built in a microcomputer is required and the number of rewriting times is limited by a block of the lowest durability when only one register showing the number of rewriting possible times exists. SOLUTION: This microcomputer is provided with a block number storage register showing information on the block whose durability is higher than the number of rewriting times as a setting value among the respective blocks of the flash memory provided with a plurality of blocks different in the number of rewriting times and a means for converting the address of a data rewriting block into the block that the setting value of the register shows. Thus, every semiconductor chip can use the block of the higher durability of the number of rewriting times.
