摘要 PURPOSE: To manufacture an electro-optic device exemplified by an active matrix type liquid crystal display device while decreasing the process of rubbing treatment and to decrease the production cost and to improve the yield by decreasing the number of processes to manufacture TFTs. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display device of a multidomain perpendicular alignment type with wide viewing angle display in which the cell gap is uniform and the switching direction of liquid crystal molecules is controlled is obtained in the following processes. The pixel TFT part 201 having a reversed stagger type n-channel TFT and the holding capacitance 202 are formed by using three photomasks in three photolithographic processes. Then without rubbing treatment, wall type spacers 121, 122 are formed in one photolithographic process.
