The recycling device has the empty plastics ink cartridge cut along a helical line beginning at its open end and ending at a short distance from its base, via a cutting tool with a pair of driven rollers (7,9) and a circular cutting blade (19), with the resulting plastics strip divided into short sections, with separate collection of the short sections and the ink cartridge bases. An Independent claim for a machine for recycling empty plastics ink cartridges is also included.
