摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus that makes a high resolution compatible with a high gradation expressive power by employing an error spread method so as to conduct a half-tone processing of dot concentration type. SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus that converts a multi-value image into a binary image by the error spread method spreads an error generated in a target pixel X to peripheral pixels according to spread weighting coefficients 1-3. The spread weighting coefficients decrease monotonously in proportion to the distance from the target pixel X and finally reaches zero and the distance up to reaching zero change depending on directions. The half- tone processing of a dot concentration type can be conduct with the spread weighting coefficients.
