SYNTHETIC APERTURE RADER DEVICE AND TARGET IMAGE REPRODUCTION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a synthetic aperture radar device capable of detecting a target scattering point with resolution above that determined according to the amount of a pulse carrier frequency change. SOLUTION: This synthetic aperture radar device is provided with a frequency converting means 12 carrying out Fourier transformation on a data string in the range direction of each cross range constituent of a target image so as to form frequency data and an image reproducing means 13a performing side lobe suppressing process to the frequency data so as to reproduce the target image, and deterioration of resolution due to the range directional spread of the target image can be improved by suppressing a side lobe generated by range compression.
