PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical device which can decrease a fog and which has low optical reflection density during color erasing and higher contrast between color developing and erasing. SOLUTION: The optical device is provided with a cell 2 holding a colored stimulation responding polymer gel 10 and a liquid 12 which can be absorbed in the polymer gel 10 between a pair of substrates 6, 8, and a microlens 4. The microlens 4 is preferably disposed on the opposite face of one substrate 6 to the face where the colored stimulation responding polymer gel 10 is held. The microlens 4 is preferably in the form of a convex lens having a recess near the center.
