PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for housing a cartridge by which a cartridge in which regular size film is wound and housed is efficiently and speedily housed in a package container and a film tongue part projecting from the cartridge is not deformed by smoothly inserting the film without exerting unnatural force at such a time. SOLUTION: The method for housing the cartridge in which the regular size film is wound and housed in the package container is provided with a stage to supply the container in which the cartridge is housed to a cartridge incorporating position, a stage to hold and move the cartridge to the incorporating position, a stage to make the cartridge pass through a guide barrel body positioned between the container and the cartridge and having a rotating insertion port whose circumference is larger than that of an ejection port and incorporate it in the container.
