METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING COLOR FILTER FOR REFLECTION TYPE LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a color filter for a reflection display by which a large screen, fine pixels, excellent smoothness and high latitude for pattern arrangement are obtained and the thickness of the color filter can be controlled. SOLUTION: The method includes (a) a process of applying a positive photoresist on a reflection substrate or reflection electrode, (b) a process of exposing the photoresist layer through a mask having a pixel pattern which forms at least three kinds of exposure regions having different exposure energy in the photoresist, (c) a process of removing the exposure region with the largest quantity of light with an alkali developer to expose the surface of the reflection substrate or reflection electrode in the region, (d) a process of electrodepositing a coating material of a selected color on the exposed surface (of the reflection substrate) and (e) a process of forming a color filter of desired colors by repeating the processes (c) and (d).
