<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To estimate the performance of a heat pump using hydrogen-occluding alloy with high accuracy. SOLUTION: A hydrogen absorption and discharge cycle is repeated for hydrogen- occluding alloy to be filled in a heat pump is repeated to measure the hydrogenation equilibrium characteristics after passage of cycle four times or more. As regards the hydrogenation equilibrium characteristics property where the dependency on cycle is confirmed, the estimate of the change of the hydrogenation equilibrium characteristics which will occur when the hydrogen absorption and discharge cycle is repeated in the hydrogen-occluding alloy filled in the heat pump is performed, based on the estimate formula consisting of an exponential function whose variables are the change of the hydrogenation equilibrium characteristics and the number of times of repetition of the hydrogen absorption and discharge cycle, or a linear function, or a function where these are combined. This estimate formula is made by applying approximation operation, based on the data measured four times or more. The change of the hydrogenation equilibrium characteristics is estimated, based on this estimate formula, and the performance of the heat pump is evaluated, based on the estimate result.</p> |
