The extrusion is made from at least one polymer material (1) with a reinforcing element (2) of aluminium or steel. It clips onto the heads (3) of rigid studs (4) projecting especially from the surface (5) of a vehicle bodywork. The body of the extrusion, made from a thermoplastic polymer such as EPDM or rubber, has a C-shaped cross-section, with lips (7) of a harder material which fit under the heads of the studs. The extrusion incorporates a transverse inner deformable membrane which runs its whole length and interacts with the heads of the studs to draw the lips inwards when it is clipped onto them. The membrane can be made from the same material as the body of the extrusion or from a different material, and the body, lips and membrane can be produced by co-extrusion. The reinforcing element has a groove (8) along the middle of its outer surface to allow it to flex. |
