PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an aqueous dispersion of colored resin particles capable of controlling the particle diameter according to a simple means and excellent in dispersion stability. SOLUTION: The liquid temperature of the aqueous dispersion of the colored resin particles during mixing and dispersing is controlled in the method for producing the aqueous dispersion of the colored resin particles comprising mixing and dispersing (a) a solid colored compound comprising a resin having an acid value and a pigment, (b) water, (c) an organic solvent to be a good solvent for the resin and (d) a base as essential components.
