METHOD FOR PREDICTING KEY STROKE IN KEYBOARD AND PREDICTION TYPE KEYBOARD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To predict key strokes in a single pointer keyboard. SOLUTION: Key stokes on a keyboard are predicted by constructing a model from a training corpus. The training corpus includes a symbol sequence. The model predicts the set of symbols, and each symbol of the set continues a specific symbol sequence by using the variable length sub-sequence of the specific symbol sequence. The specific length is selected so that probability of correct prediction can be maximized. The keys on the keyboard are emphasized. The emphasized keys are made correspond to the selected symbols in the set of the symbols.
