PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk storage which has a head load and unload mechanism and a latch mechanism, is applied to a small disk drive of low-voltage power source specifications and can realize the stable loading operation so that a head can escape from a head stop member securely. SOLUTION: The small disk drive of the low-voltage power source specification has the head load and unload mechanism and the latch mechanism. A CPU 2 supplies control current of the rated maximum current value to a VCM 6 in loading control and controls an additional drive circuit 12 and performs retry processing when the head enters into a movement stopped state on a head stop member. The additional drive circuit 12 supplies the control current increased in the electric current value higher than the rated maximum current value to the VCM 6.
