PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device for a vehicle preventing the deformation of a stopper surface caused by a tool for screwing a rack shaft stopper or the change of the maximum stroke amount, and providing the set maximum stroke amount. SOLUTION: The rack shaft stopper 24 of the steering device of the vehicle has a stopper surface 28 for prescribing the maximum stroke amount of a rack shaft 4 and an engaging part 30 with which a tool 31 for attaching/ detaching the rack shaft stopper 24 to/from a power cylinder 6. The engaging part 30 is made of a notch installed on a bottom surface 29a in a recess 29 having the bottom surface 29a apart by the specified distance D from the stopper surface 28 in the moving direction exceeding the maximum stroke amount. The specified distance D is set in a such value that the deformation of the edge of the engaging part 30 producing by the engagement with the tool 31 does not change the maximum stroke amount.
