PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reciprocating motor-driven compressor drivable by a battery. SOLUTION: A first half cover part 101 is formed in a main frame 1 for supporting a compression mechanism 2, and an electric motor cover 4 is constituted by installing a second half cover part 3 in this first half cover part 101. A brushless DC electric motor 30 is used as an electric motor, and a rotor 31 of the electric motor 30 is installed on a rotary shaft 8. A stator 32 of the electric motor is arranged inside the rotor 31, and is installed in a state of fitting the iron core 32A to the outer periphery of a boss part 3c arranged in the second half cover part 3.
