PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a liquid crystal display device without incurring contamination, modification or deterioration in the production processes of a liquid crystal layer and an alignment film and to provide a liquid crystal display device having high display quality and reliability. SOLUTION: In the method, a liquid crystal material is supplied to fill the region surrounded by a first substrate, a second substrate and a sealing agent, and the opening in the sealing agent to inject the liquid crystal material is sealed by deformation or transformation of a solid.
