PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a demodulating device which is exact during the movement of a head for reading a disk medium relating to a method and device for positioning the head for positioning the head to a prescribed position. SOLUTION: The result of demodulation is obtained from the position signal of the head of the disk device having the disk medium (6), a head (4), an actuator (3) and a control circuit (19) and is subjected to speed correction by a correction value meeting the moving speed of the head. Since the speed correction is executed, the exact position of the head may be demodulated even during the movement of the head.
