PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL display device that prevents the split patterns of the rear face electrode from being reflected upon the display face by the outside light irradiated from the display face, when split rear electrode structure is used. SOLUTION: The organic EL display device 1A forms a transparent electrode 4 split for each luminous area 9 at the rear face 3 of a transparent substrate 2. And a non-transparent metal membrane 8 is coated on each transparent electrode 4 to form a windowless portion 5 defining a luminous area 9 and a metal reflecting membrane 20 is formed between the metal membrane 8 so that each metal membrane 8 is not connected each other, and an organic layer 10 is laminated over it and a nontransparent rear electrode is formed split to corresponding metal membrane 8. The reflecting membrane 20 is formed to cover at least the split gap 17 of the rear electrode 11 from the front face. By this arrangement, a mirror face is constituted by the front face 11a of the rear electrode, the front face 8a of the metal membrane 8 and the front face 20a of the reflecting membrane 20 to cover whole area of the display face 12 against a view from the front side of the display face 12. By this mirror face, the outside light 23a, 23b irradiated from the display face 12 is reflected on the display face 12 without any gap.
