PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device in which cleaning performance is improved without shortening the service life of a cleaning roller and simultaneously a soiling transfer amount from the cleaning roller is reduced, and to provide a developer image fixing method. SOLUTION: The fixing device 60 of a copying machine is equipped with a heating roller 126 equipped with a heater 128 inside, a pressure roller 127 provided to roll in contact with the roller 126, and a cleaning mechanism 134 cleaning the rollers 126 and 127. The mechanism 134 has the cleaning roller 150 rolling in contact with the roller 126 and a pressuring varying mechanism varying the pressuring force of the roller 150 to the roller 126. The pressuring varying mechanism consecutively varies the pressuring force of the roller 150 within a specified pressuring force range in a shorten cycle than the passing time of paper passing between the rollers 126 and 127. |
