PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide sufficient illumination even with a small pedaling force. SOLUTION: The rotation load of a rotor (not shown in Fig.) is reduced because the amount of magnetization of the magnetic body (not shown in Fig.) of a block dynamo 10 is smaller than usual. A voltage comparison part 44 compares a preset voltage value Vs with the peak value of a half-wave rectified voltage, and when the peak value is less than Vs, a switch 46 is held closed to perform energy compensation control using electric energy. Thus, sufficient illumination can be achieved even with a small pedaling force.
