PURPOSE: A foldable mobile phone is provided to easily open a cover case in one operation even when the weight of the cover case is comparatively heavy. CONSTITUTION: The foldable mobile phone is configured by connecting the cover case(2) to a main body case(1) via a couple of hinges(10, 10'). The one hinge mechanism(10) consists of cylindrical block(13, 22) provided respectively at the main body case(1) and the cover case(2) and of a hinge assembly(4) placed while being penetrated through the block. The hinge assembly(4) is provided with a main body drive member that is engaged with the block(13) of the main body case(1) in a way that relative turning is disabled, a cover drive member that is engaged with the block(22) of the cover case(2) in a way that relative turning is disabled, a drive spring that turns the cover drive member in an opening direction of the cover case(2), a hold mechanism that holds the cover case(2) in a closing position, an operation button(41) that is to be operated when the cover case(2) is open, and a hold release mechanism that releases the holding state by the hold mechanism in response to the operation of the operation button(41). |
