PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized waveguide type bi-directional light transmission module small in crosstalk. SOLUTION: The module is easily miniaturized by constituting a converting part and a transmitting part of semiconductor elements 202, 203, 204 and mounting the semiconductor elements 202, 203, 204 on the same substrate so as to optically couple with an optical waveguide element. That is, since a shield plate 207 functions as a diaphragm by inserting the shield plate 207 which shields light not coupling with the optical waveguide into the optical waveguide between a laser diode 202 and a photodiode 204, stray light is removed and crosstalk is reduced. Since an optical waveguide element 209 is covered by a transparent resin 210 having a refractive index larger than that of air, light not coupling with the optical waveguide is discharged in the outside of the resin 210. Then, crosstalk is reduced. |
