PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To freely attain setting in an input plug in the case of transmission through the use of a network such as the IEEE 1394 system. SOLUTION: In the case that data obtained from an output device connected to a prescribed network are sent from the prescribed output plug of the output device to the network and the prescribed input plug of an input device connected to the network receives the data, the output device confirms the address of a buffer temporarily storing the data obtained at the input plug of the input device by using an address set to a prescribed pointer in a register being a component of the input plug before starting transmission of the data, and the output device transmits the data to the confirmed address.
