PURPOSE: To provide a DV camera that acts like a WWW server on a network. CONSTITUTION: An image pickup section 11 photographs an object. A DV encoder 12 encodes an image signal received from the image pickup section 11. A recording and reproducing section 14 reproduces DV data recorded on a DV cassette tape 15. An IP packet generation separation section 19 converts a DV signal received from the DV encoder 12, a DV signal received from the recording and reproducing section 14 or an HTML file received from a WWW server processing section 21 into IP packets and outputs them to an IEEE1394 interface 20. The IEEE1394 interface 20 transmits the IP packet received from the IP packet generation separation section 19 to the personal computer 3 that accesses the DV camera 1 via a network 2.
