The device has a hand brake lever held pivoted in a bearing block. The bearing block (3) is a one-piece plastic injection-molded part or a cast part of a light metal alloy, e.g. aluminum or magnesium alloy. It has at least three support feet or holders for sealed fastening in apertures in a base. The holders have a basin (16) projecting into the base. The block also has fasteners for a central console, and a holder for an arm support.
