PURPOSE: A metallic foam having open cells using investment casting is provided to manufacture products having various shapes including a curve surface by using polyurethane which can be cut to various appearances, and obtain superior sound absorbing property and lighter product due to a relatively low density compared with an existing foam having closed cells. CONSTITUTION: The method for manufacturing the metallic foam having open cells comprises a polymer material preparation process (1) of preparing a polymer having an open cell structure such as polyurethane in producing a metallic foam having open cells; a plaster prescription and infusion process (2) of filling the polymer material into a plaster; a plaster hardening and polymer separation process (3) of hardening the plaster formed in a polymer structure, and separating the polymer material from the plaster; a molten metal infusion process (4) of filling the inside of the plaster by pouring a molten metal into the upper part of the hardened plaster; a plaster separation process (5) of crushing the plaster into fine fragments by heat impact after the metal in the plaster is solidified, and guiding the crushed fine fragments so that the fine fragments are completely come out from between pores in metallic bubbles; and a drying process (6) of drying the metallic foam in the ordinary temperature.
