Halogen lamp with socket

The system includes a halogen lamp (1) having a neck designed as a glass base (3) with external current leads lying on the side facing away from the lamp. The socket (2) has an opening (7) for the lamp, a mechanical retaining device (5) for the lamp at the glass base and metal contacts (6) for the lamps's leads. The external leads of the lamp are bent through an angle of about 90 degrees and the contacts of the socket make contact in their bent region. The bending of the one lead is located at a distance from the glass base. After the bending, this lead is passed back towards the glass base and lies especially on the narrow side of the neck.
