PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an angular velocity detecting apparatus capable of enhancing the accuracy of the detected angular velocity by optimizing electrode patterns on the arm portions of a piezoelectric vibrator. SOLUTION: The angular velocity detecting apparatus 10 uses a piezoelectric vibrator 20 having a plurality of arm portions 22 and 23 formed in approximately the same shape. The piezoelectric vibrator 20 includes a first electrode 25 formed on first surfaces 22a and 23a where the arm portions 22 and 23 are opposed to each other, a second electrode 24 formed on second surfaces 22b and 23b opposed to the first surfaces 22a and 23a, and a third electrode 26 formed on surfaces approximately perpendicular to the first surfaces 22a and 23a and the second surfaces 22b and 23b. The first electrode 25, the second electrode 24 and the third electrode 26 are formed approximately in symmetry with respect to a plane formed by the longitudinal direction of the arm portions 22 and 23 and the alignment direction of the plurality of arm portions 22 and 23. |
