METHOD AND DEVICE FOR USING MULTIPLE FIFO ENHANCING FLOW CONTROL AND ROUTING IN COMMUNICATION RECEIVER

PURPOSE: A method and device for using a multiple FIFO enhancing a flow control and a routing in a communication receiver is provided to perform a flow control and a routing using more than two buffers in a packet communication receiving node. CONSTITUTION: The first FIFO(104) and the corresponded receiving component(128) charge a process of data packets received from a transmission source(100). The receiving component(128) is embodied as a general purpose program computer in an optical channel application. The second FIFO(108) and a corresponded receiving component(130) charge a process of packets related to a control and a status received from the transmission source(100). The second FIFO(112) and a corresponded receiving component(132) charge a process of an approved packet. The receiving components(128,130,132) are embodied as a customary electronic circuit or a program data processing element in a receiving node(1). For example, the second FIFO is used for processing all non-data packets compared to two second FIFOs.
