PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide picture communication equipment which can receive a picture from all the destinations since the FIF of a DIS signal at the time of call-incoming is made to be 4 byte and which can receive a picture corresponding to a high-performance since a DIS signal of FIF longer than 4 byte is transmitted when specific information is detected in facsimile equipment capable of detecting the telephone number of an originating person. SOLUTION: The picture communication equipment capable of detecting the telephone number of the originating person has a transmitting byte number registering means for registering the number of the transmitting bytes of FIF of the DIS signal corresponding to the telephone number of the originating person, a means for string information for informing all the destinations that the DIS signal of FIF of (a) byte is to be transmitted as an initial value, and a transmission means for transmitting the DIS signal of FIF of (a) byte at the time of call-incoming and transmitting the DIS signal of FIF of (b) byte (b>a) within the same communication in the case of detecting specific information from an opposite equipment.
