PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a route guidance method and apparatus using a sentence such that a user can readily know that he or she is taking not the correct route but the wrong route when his or her vehicle is out of the guided route. SOLUTION: The sentence for each section between intersections, including information about both sides of branch roads between the intersections along the route, the traveled distance which is the distance between the intersections, the form of the next intersection to be crossed after the vehicle has traveled the distance, and the way of crossing the intersection, is originated. The sentence is used for route guidance so that the user can readily know that he or she is taking not the correct route but the wrong route. |
