摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phase changeable optical recording medium susceptible to short wavelength operation and high linear velocity operation while keeping the heat stability of a recording mark. SOLUTION: In the phase changeable optical recording medium having a phase changeable recording layer (3) reversively changed between a crystal state and an amorphous state by the irradiation with light, the phase changeable recording layer (3) is based on Ge, Sb and Te and contains at least one kind of an element selected from Bi, In, Sn and Pb and the sum total area of particles satisfying R>=(55x+45), wherein 2c is a [Ge]/[Sb] atomic composition ratio in the phase changeable recording layer (3); and R is a crystal particle size (nm) after the crystal state is formed in the phase changeable recording layer 3, is less than 20% of the total area of the crystal part.
