PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an attitude control device for an auxiliary cutting blade unit in a general-purpose combine harvester 1 equipped with a vehicle 3 which can reap rice, wheat, soy bean plants, or the like, spreading ahead all the way in the width of the vehicle 3 and then thresh the same, capable of preventing cut culms from remaining on a paddy field, even when an auxiliary cutting blade unit 7 used for reaping operation on the paddy field is subjected to control of avoiding a collision against a circumjacent object such as a ridge. SOLUTION: In this combine harvester, the attitude control device 25 for lifting and controlling the auxiliary cutting blade unit 7 keeps a hydraulic cylinder 24 under drive control so that the auxiliary cutting blade unit 7 is shifted to the collapsed attitude in which the blade unit does not contact with the plant culms, or the like, after the vehicle 3 travels only a prescribed distance L2, when a reaping clutch for transmitting drive power to a reaping pretreatment unit 6 is shifted to a state in which the power is transmitted and, at the time, the reaping pretreatment unit 6 is held in a position higher than the position of a prescribed height.
