PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cage mat and a cage mat work capable of protecting a river bank with which larger boulder stones collide while using conventional cages 2 as they are. SOLUTION: Wooden materials 12 are attached to a frame member 11 to constitute a protection panel 1. A cage 2 filled with aggregate inside is installed on the slope face of a river side. The protection panel 1 is attached to the front face of the cage 2 in the range affected by the water stream.
