PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To offer a container for solid state image sensing device which can simplify the structure of an optical system in an image sensing device. SOLUTION: This container includes a box body 1a provided with a container 1c for containing a solid state image sensing element and an opening 1d, and a transparent sealing plate 1b which seals the opening 1d. An edge plane 5 of an outer circumference of the sealing plane 1b is the etched plane or the plane coated with a resin.
