SOUND-ABSORBING MATERIAL AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonwoven fabric structure, having uniform and three- dimensionally random fiber orientability for the purpose of improving sound- absorbing characteristics, etc., a method for easily manufacturing this nonwoven fabric structure and an apparatus for manufacture used for this method for manufacture. SOLUTION: This sound-absorbing material is formed by imparting a porous film to one surface of the nonwoven fabric structure, which is a three- dimensional structure of the nonwoven fabric structure consisting of short fibers and in which the contact parts of the fibers with each other are substantially partly adhered and the fibers are arrayed in random directions within at least the two surfaces of the three-dimensional structure.
