PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding-type vibration isolation apparatus for a detached house, which is compact in size and low in cost, but always exhibits excellent restoring property with respect to displacement in any directions. SOLUTION: A sliding mechanism 6 is constituted of a friction material 2 fixed onto the side of a sill foundation B, and a friction material 5 fixed onto the side of an upper structure A. On the periphery of the sliding mechanism 6, a spiral spring 8 is interposed between an annular spring stop member 7 fixed onto the side of the sill foundation B and an external peripheral surface of a folder 4 rigidly supporting the friction material 5, such that an internal end portion 8a of the spring 8 is wound on and fixed to the external peripheral surface of the folder 4 and that an external end portion 8b of the spring 8 is fastened to an internal peripheral surface of the annular spring stop member 7. In this manner, a restoring force mechanism 9 which imparts restoring force toward respective displacement initial positions to both the friction materials 2, 5, is constructed.
