PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently actualize conditional branch processing on an SIMD type parallel computer. SOLUTION: The SIMD type parallel computer is equipped with a subtracting means 100, a flag value acquiring means 101, a bit inverting means 102, a 1st AND means 103, and a 2nd AND means 104, and a branch preparation instruction for successively executing those means is added as an extension instruction to an instruction set, thereby obtaining a branch condition decision result needed to execute a true-side instruction stream and a false-side instruction stream at a time in one machine cycle.
