BINDING COMPOSITION, ADDITIVE FOR CONFERRING BINDING CAPABILITY TO ABSORBING MATERIALS AND THE USE THEREOF IN ANIMAL LITTER

The invention concerns an additive for conferring binding capability to a granular component that comprises the following: a polysaccharide dispersible in an aqueous medium (for instance rubber, cellulose, starches and the mixtures thereof), a polyhydroxylated liquid vehicle (for instance polyalcohols such as glycerin) and finely crushed, rheology grade or micronized sepiolite. The invention also concerns a binding composition for the litter of animals, comprising between 90.0 and 99.9 percent by weight of an absorbing component (selected from amongst the sepiolites, attapulgites, diatomites, marls, zeolites, calcites, dolomites, slates, pumice stone, gypsum, bentonites, tobermorites, building material residues, plant compositions and the mixtures thereof) and 0.1 to 10 percent by weight of the organo-mineral additive previously described. Said binding composition can be used in animal litter (for instance cat litter).
