PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium separating agent which is obtained by subjecting lithium-containing alumina-silica multiple oxide to acid treatment and is excellent in lithium adsorbing capacity and stable in an aqueous solution. SOLUTION: Lithium can be extremely efficiently separated and economically recovered from lithium-diluted solutions such as geothermal water and liquid waste by using this agent. Lithium is useful as materials for batteries, cooling media, raw materials for nuclear fusion reactors, etc., for example.
