PURPOSE: An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) is provided to display images without difference when an LCD is observed in the front direction, and to display independent fixed pattern images to input video signals when the LCD is observed in a designated direction. CONSTITUTION: An LCD has an LC layer(15), alignment films(13,14) for aligning the LC layer and a driving circuit for driving the LC layer. The alignment film is divided into a plurality of regions consisting of prescribed figures in visible size. Thereby, the alignment direction in one region is different from that in adjacent regions. An image formed on the driving circuit is displayed in the vertical direction of the LC layer. An independent fixed image to the driving circuit is displayed in a direction except the vertical direction. The LCD observes a fixed pattern having no relation with an image displayed on a monitor when the LCD is observed in a direction except the front direction. Therefore, the structure of the LCD prevents other people from catching a glimpse of the monitor.
