PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrifying roller of a developing machine for an image forming device, to provide a method of producing that roller and a jig for the production of the roller. SOLUTION: The jig for the production of an electrifying roller consists of a pipe main body with both ends connected so as to define the housing space to house a metal rod on which a foaming rubber source material is applied as compressed, and a pair of plugs to fix the metal rod coated with the compressed foaming rubber source material as inserted into both ends of the main body and to hermetically seal the housing space. The main body is made of a polymer material having low thermal conductivity. The electrifying roller is produced by using the foaming rubber source material prepared by mixing an epichlorohydrin oxide rubber and acrylonitrile butadiene rubber, for example, in the proportion of 5:95. Or the electrifying roller is produced by using a crosslinking rubber source material consisting of epichlorohydrin oxide rubber having characteristics of polar low mol.wt. molecules and acrylonitrile butadiene rubber.
