PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve fuel treating equipment of a hot cell, so as to safely accept and transport it in a cell, a spent fuel assembly hung down from a fuel treating machine with a gripper operation into a hot cell and to surely protect dispersing of radioactive materials in the hot cell, even when there is accidental fall of the fuel assembly from a gripper during hanging and moving. SOLUTION: A spent fuel treating equipment is placed in a hot cell 7, structured underneath the floor of a reactor building and receives and transports into the cell, a spent fuel assembly 15 hung down from above into a fuel inlet path by gripper operation of the fuel treating machine. The equipment comprises a transport cask 11 with open upper end for receiving a fuel assembly hung down in the fuel inlet path, an elevator mechanism 12 for loading the cask and elevating in the cell, and a bellows-type seal joint 14 connected to the transporting the cask at the elevated position of the elevator mechanism and isolating the fuel inlet path from the space in the cell.
