PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the linearity of the driving current-to-light output characteristic of a wavelength stabilizing laser which stabilizes the oscillation wavelength, by selecting the wavelength of a laser beam emitted from a semiconductor laser by means of a band pass filter and then feeding the laser beam back to the semiconductor laser. SOLUTION: The wavelength stabilizing laser comprises the semiconductor laser 10, a means 20 for feeding the laser beam 11 emitted from the semiconductor laser 10 back to the semiconductor laser 10, and the band pass filter 14 which lets only the light of a specified wavelength pass through and which is located between the means 20 and the semiconductor laser 10. The optical length from the semiconductor laser 10 to the means 20 which feeds the laser beam back to the semiconductor laser 10 is made longer than the coherent length of the semiconductor laser 10.
