PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protection element having electrodes formed at separate positions on an insulating circuit board, comprising a temperature fuse and a fuse with resistor connecting a fusible body made of an alloy of low melting point or fusible alloy across the space between the electrodes, capable of making balls of the fused body quickly and smoothly when the fusible body is fused and maintaining a long and stable distance between fused bodies after fusing. SOLUTION: Middle layers 6 and 7, made of a solder material whose melting point is higher than that of an alloy with low melting point, or an alloy comprising the solder material as the main component, are formed on electrodes 4 and 5 formed on an insulating board 1. The alloy 10 with low melting point, extending over the middle layers 6 and 7, is connected to the middle layers 6 and 7.
