PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely and by an easy means avoid a positional slippage of a clamp by a difference of a pivotal amount of a nailing unit or a pressing bend unit generated due to a difference of a thickness of a sheet bundle. SOLUTION: In a stapler equipped with a head unit 3 for nailing a sheet bundle, an anvil unit 4 for bending both ends of the nail driven into the sheet bundle, a movable frame 40 which is, in a freely pivotal manner, fitted to an apparatus frame to hold the anvil unit 4 and a drive shaft 43 for pivoting the movable frame 40, the anvil unit 4 is freely swingably supported by bearing of the movable frame 40 according to a thickness of the sheet bundle.
