PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera that can obtain an image with a more complete color balance, even in the case of using an ND filter independently of the dispersion in the color characteristic of the ND filter. SOLUTION: The electronic camera is provided with an image pickup lens (11), that forms an image of an object, image pickup means (21-23) that convert the formed object image into an electric signal and output an image signal, an ND filter (13) that is placed around an image pickup optical system and inserted/removed to/from the image pickup optical system, a storage means (62) that stores color characteristic data of the ND filter, and a color correction means (611) that corrects the color of the image signal on the basis of the prescribed color characteristic data. When the ND filter is inserted to the image pickup optical system, the color correction means conducts color correction, on the basis of the prescribed color characteristic data and the color characteristic of the ND filter.
