PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely and quickly determine a trouble in an oxygen concentration sensor. SOLUTION: A lapse time after finish of an F/C operation is measured and an integrated volume SUMSVS of exhaust gas discharged after the finish of the F/C operation (step 13) in this trouble determining device 1 for the sensor 25 arranged in a downstream of a catalytic device 8 in an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine 3. The trouble of the sensor 25 is determined by detecting whether a detected signal value SV02 of the sensor 25 crosses over a prescribed threshold value #SV02CHK or not (steps 51, 55), and the determination of the trouble is left open (the step 55 is NO) when the detected signal SV02 does not cross over the prescribed threshold value #SV02CHK and when the integrated volume SUMSVS of the exhaust gas does not reach to a prescribed value #SUMSVAFC (the step 51 is NO and the step 55 is NO), after a prescribed time #TMFCCKD lapses.
