PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine control device capable of reducing the processing load and improving the precision and also improving the startability of an engine. SOLUTION: The pulse interval in a crank signal having a missing tooth is measured, and a multiplication signal of integer-time frequency is generated on the basis of this pulse interval up to the next pulse. At the starting of the engine, the engine control is performed according to cam signal and crank signal specifying the cylinder position at least until the missing tooth of the crank signal is detected. From a prescribed timing after the detection of the missing tooth part of the crank signal, the engine control based on the multiplication signal is performed while performing the initialization with the missing tooth of the crank signal.
